Hearing Aid Repair
Hearing aids are durable devices that are designed to last several years.
Hearing aid maintenance is crucial to the longevity of your device. But like most devices you use regularly, they can be impacted by daily wear and tear. Substances can accumulate in the ears (earwax, moisture, dirt, etc.) that affect the device, or hearing components may break and need fixing. It is not uncommon for hearing aids to require repair work over the years. Our practice provides in-house repairs, allowing you to easily access hearing aid support when needed.
There are a few signs that can indicate you need repairs including:
- Your device randomly powers off
- You hear feedback noise
- Your batteries seem to not last very long at all
- Your hearing aid isn’t working as well as it normally does
In cases such as these, we encourage you to bring your hearing aids in so we can thoroughly assess them. This allows us to identify the issue and determine if we can provide the repair work or if your device needs to be sent to the manufacturer. Common in-house repairs include fixing the battery compartment, replacing hooks that hold behind the ear devices in place, thoroughly cleaning tubing which can become clogged, and more. If you suspect that something is wrong with your device or notice that it is not working optimally, please do not hesitate to bring your device.
